Despite having three antenna configurations and on different bands, no contacts were made because of background noise both QRN and QRM. Good interest was shown by the public in amateur radio activities and a surprising number with call signs and ex-telegraphists stopped for a chat. We will see in the next week or two how many end up visiting the club. Apart from us, there were an amazing number of vintage and classic cars, jeeps, troop carriers, amphibious planes, snow cones, hot chips, and Pluto Pups. The highlight in the afternoon was, of course, the arrival of the Catalina. The major drawback of the day was the temperature - it was hot - and we had the best seats in the house with a great view of the lake and the performing stunt planes. Plus we were in the shade under the Westlakes gazebo. Others out in the open and without hats will be sore today. Thanks to the club members who helped to set up and pull down Westlakes display.
